Meet Model, Swimwear Designer & Influencer Anna Alimani

Congratulations on winning Best Bikini walk in Miss New York! In light of this, You recently announced you are launching your own line: Anna Swimwear. Please could you tell us more about this?
Thank you! And I would be most delighted to! Anna SwimWear is my first brand that I have built on my own aside from having my real estate business, I partnered with 2020 Miss New york Crown title holder, Andreia Gibau as the face of my brand and I cannot wait to see how our shoot turns out and how my collection looks like in Miami Swim week; which my debut date is July 16th. The essence of my brand is really about serene beauty; and meant to make you feel like a beauty queen.

You recently attended the 2022 Cannes Film Festival & Monaco Grand Prix right before competing in Miss New York. Please could you tell our readers more about this. What advice do you give those planning on attending next year?
Let’s just say it was an absolutely phenomenal experience!! Being shoulder to shoulder with all of the celebrities and walking that coveted red carpet was something absolutely magical! Followed by attending the Grand Prix for the first time I am happy to say it was one of the fondest memories of my life, truly an unforgettable experience being surrounded with all of the amazing people and energy was something I can never forget! As for advice I would say PLAN AHEAD- I was lucky I had attended Cannes last year so I somewhat know the ropes but going last minute is a hassle and lots of stress, if you plan on going I would say plan months in advice it is one of the hottest times in the year in the South of France and everyone wants to be there so make sure your place is secured! And most importantly network while you are there! You have the elite of the world down in France at that time: billionaires, super models, producers, race car drivers, live it up!

What have you learnt as a Fashion Model and Influencer over the years? What advice would you give to your younger self?
I’ve learned to always be YOU. There is no one like you and there never will be; being yourself is what makes you unique and authentic and lets you stand out and be memberorable. To my younger selfI would’ve said- don’t be shy and be courageous, don’t sell yourself short and don’t be quiet! Closed mouths don’t get fed.

You landed the cover of L’Officiel India earlier this year. You have also been featured in other magazines including Harpers Bazaar, Vigour and Pump. What publications are next on your bucket list?
Haha well I am a bit superstitious when it comes to jinxing future plans so I will keep mum on that- only hit I can give is it is a prominent magazine starting with a V! But in the meantime I plan to do some smaller end publications also.

What has been your favourite modeling job to date and why?
I would have to say that is a hard question but my answer would have to be modeling for my own swimwear line- it felt so empowering to be the face of a company you own , a company you created, and a company you are taking to Miami Swim week! I also have huge plans for expansive and mass marketing for my brand and I already have a very strong start having Miss New York of 2020 be my partner so the only way I can see this going is up!

You have a substantial following of over 400,000 Instagram followers. Was there a turning point where your followers started to grow exponentially or was it gradual?
Honestly it was mostly gradual, however when I did start to get more press, magazine covers, attend red carpet events, cannes, beauty pageants, etc sell multi million dollar properties etc it did start up quicker since the more places I attend the more prominence I would get with people posting/reposting me etc

What 3 tips do you have for an aspiring Instagram Influencer?
I really don’t consider myself an “influencer” I think that term is so cliche, I like the term “socialite” as influencer has become redundant and corny. As for the tips, don’t let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn’t post (as long as you aren’t offending anyone), let your creativity shine through, and also be different! Don’t copy anyone else’s ig!

How do you think Instagram has impacted the Fashion Modeling industry?
I think instagram has impacted the fashion and modeling industry in a tremendous way by influencing style trends and seeing live fashion and fitting on models real time instead of just a lookbook or catalog, it was really give a 3D look and feel to how fashion is felt, sensed and seen and how it can be modeling in a whole diversity of ways.

What is your current skincare routine?
When I wake up, put on La Roche-Posay which is a French moisturizer sunblock- its key to wear SPF daily to preserve the youth and vitality of your skin! This cream in particular gives you an amazing dewy glow! For before bed time, I use neutrogena facial cleanser, followed with Ivan Pol’s (@thebeautysandwhich) on IG beauty serum which he calls “filter in a bottle” which nourishes your skin with different vitamins as well as with Dior’s Capture Youth plump filler. Lastly, I drink lots of water, stay away from the sun, avoid processed foods and alcohol and SLEEP!

What 3 items can you not live without?
Hard question! But definitely my airpods! Without my little pods I get elbow cramps and I am on the phone a LOT throughout the day so those little buddies are a MUST! Adding to that my phone its an extension of my brain and essentially is my laptop and I can do any business function on it! Lastly I couldn’t live without the love of my family; you always need a strong base of support and love to really keep pushing you forward to succeed!
